WELCOME TO VILLA DUROUX

Home away from home

We have 2 stylish and fully equipped villas nestled among the sunflower fields with a large heated salt water pool available for our guests. Each villa has been extensively refurbished whilst remaining in-keeping with a countryside house with over 200 years of rural history. Our grounds amount to 2 hectares of agricultural evolution and feature a small wood, fields, streams and fruit trees which provide crops from cherries in June to walnuts in October.

Our villas are styled to be calm and comfortable in order that your stay at villa Duroux is a pleasure. With over 40 years of global travel experience between us, we have endeavoured to ensure that both villas are equipped to the highest standard and can provide the flexibility required for both families and individual travellers.

Mini Duroux

At Villa Duroux we like to think that there is something here for everyone, especially our younger guests. There are acres of forest to explore around the property but closer to home you will find the trampoline, the kids cabin and a playing field complete with football goals as well as a number of holiday games to try out such as Molkky and badminton. All that in safe and peaceful surrounding.

Swimming Pool

Our heated, salt water, sand filtered swimming pool, is open between May and October for our guests. It has a large “plage” level which is ideal for our younger guests  and in-pool steps to the depth of 1.5 meters.
Parasols and sun loungers are provided at poolside and just above you will find a seating area (ideal to watch the sun go down with a glass of wine) and the  “Salon d’été” complete with a bar and refrigerated cold drinks.
The pool is open on a daily basis for the use of our guests.
Use of the pool and pool safety is solely the responsibility of our guests and the proprietors cannot accept responsibility for any accidents which occur at or in the pool.

Check-in Days and Minimum Stay

You can check in any day you like as we do not have a weekly changeover day like many properties in the area,  we simply ask for a 7 night minimum stay in July and August and a 3 night minimum stay at other times, subject to availability.

Taxe de Séjour

We take Taxe de Séjour (nightly tourist tax) in cash upon arrival. It is a small tax that we pay to our local council and it is invested into local tourism activities. It is just under a euro per night per adult as we are classified as Meublés de Tourisme Classés Quatre Étoiles. For example 2 adults with 2 children for 1 week works out at 9.10€ – 11.70€ depending on which villa you are occupying.

Recycling and Environmental Sustainability

The Dordogne is a place of natural beauty and over the last decade there has been a lot of initiatives to improve our environmental footprint. To this end, we have become “travel sustainable”. That means :
  • wherever possible we take a responsible attitude to energy and water consumption
  • we have established a waste management system and provide separate containers for non-recycling, recycling and compost waste
We ask our guests to help us reduce the impact on environment by :
  • sorting the waste
  • using eco-friendly cleaning detergents
  • saving energy and water
Waste management key :
Blue basket = glass bottles
Small bin = organic (non processed) waste
Medium bin = non recyclable waste
Large bin = recyclable waste
Montagrier operates an automatic system for disposal of non recyclable waste which is managed by a key card for each household.
Please contact the owner for access to the card.
